Course Overview:
This course offers participants the opportunity to learn upholstery techniques by creating a mid-century inspired ottoman. Over the duration of the course, attendees will acquire the skills needed to design, build, and upholster an ottoman that reflects the timeless beauty and functionality of mid-century furniture.
DAY 1
Introduction to upholstery materials and fabrics
Selecting the right foam and padding
Creating upholstery patterns and templates
Attaching foam and padding to the ottoman frame
Detailing: learn how to make piping
Sew the cover and upholster the ottoman
Attach hardware

Prerequisites: No prior experience required, but basic DIY skills are helpful.
Materials: All necessary tools and materials will be provided.
Bring: 1 metre of upholstery grade fabric or purchase either from us
Choose from two different style legs
Additional Notes:
You’ll need 1 metres of fabric, of which you will need to source before the commencement of your course. You can source your own upholstery grade fabric order through us . Please check out our website which includes links to our favourite Fabric suppliers. If you would like to see any samples, please get in touch and we will have them send to your home. Please allow 2-3 weeks prior to the course for this process. Alternatively, come 30 min early and purchase fabrics from us ( limited choice)
